Under the cherished care of Niigata&#8217;s master bonsai artist, Chutaro Nakano, it earned the name \u201cHigurashi\u201d (meaning \u201call day long\u201d) because one could gaze at it all day without ever growing tired of its beauty.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Its form, elegant on both sides, gave birth to the bonsai world&#8217;s adage: \u201cA great tree has no front or back.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Transplanted from its wild mountain roots over 90 years ago, and meticulously tended over the years by renowned bonsai masters, Higurashi retains the ruggedness unique to wild-grown specimens while being shaped into a form brimming with dignity.
