Special exhibition of Satsuki azalea bonsai to commemorate World Bonsai Day 2022

To celebrate World Bonsai Day* 2022 on Saturday, May 14, the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum, in cooperation with the Nippon Bonsai Association, the Japanese regional representative of the World Bonsai Friendship Federation*, will hold a special exhibition of satsuki azalea bonsai in their prime in the museum lobby.
Please join us at the Omiya Bonsai Art Museum to celebrate the anniversary and deepen the friendship among bonsai lovers around the world.


What is the World Bonsai Friendship Federation?
The World Bonsai Friendship Federation is an international organization of bonsai masters and enthusiasts established in 1989 at the first “World Bonsai Convention” held in Omiya City (now Saitama City), and is composed of organizations representing nine member regions of the world. The Nippon Bonsai Association is the representative organization for the Japan region.

What is World Bonsai Day?
World Bonsai Day is a bonsai anniversary day designated by the World Bonsai Friendship Federation and falls on the second Saturday of May every year in honor of the birthday of the late Saburo Kato, the third generation owner of Mansei-en in the Omiya Bonsai Village, who devoted himself to the internationalization of bonsai.
