Osaka/Kansai Expo Exhibition Commemorative Corner
From September 17th to 21st of this year, Saitama City participated in the Osaka/Kansai Expo under the theme “BONSAI & NINGYO: Saitama City—Living among Traditional Culture.”
The exhibition featured Iwatsuki ningyo hina dolls that were originally displayed at the 1970 Osaka Expo, along with newly crafted hina dolls created to commemorate this year’s Expo.
From Omiya Bonsai Village, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, masterpieces such as a bonsai estimated to be 700 years old adorned the venue.
Over the five-day period, approximately 22,000 visitors attended, allowing Saitama City to share the charm of its traditional culture with the world.
In this commemorative corner, available for six days only, visitors can enjoy videos and photographs showing the exhibition, as well as the actual ningyo that were displayed at the Expo, offering a glimpse into part of Saitama City’s presentation at the Osaka/Kansai Expo.
Dates: December 19-24 (Fri-Wed), 2025
