The Japanese name for azalea, satsuki, comes from the old word for May. This bonsai’s trunk rises straight up, then diverges into two before growing thick leaves. The title of this bonsai is Seidai, and means "magnificent imperial reign". This is in reference to its magnificent appearance in the early summer period, during which the tree is covered with flowers with pink tints.
