The dark brown, rugged bark that covers the trunk down to its roots gives this bonsai a heavy, voluptuous look. As if to contrast this, the verdant green leaves radiate with a luster full of life. The name of this breed, binan-kazura, literally means "handsome man’s vine", and comes from the fact that in the past, this plant’s sap was used to create hair care products.
