These pieces are adorned with drawings of flowers, plants, and insects on their bodies. These two pots are a pair; while the designs on both pieces are identical, their orientations are mirrored. The front depicts a praying mantis and a dragonfly alongside a blooming lotus flower. These pieces were painted using a technique called Wucai, which refers to using five colors of overglaze enamel to paint onto a base, such as white porcelain.
