This pot is characteristic of Ishikawa Prefecture’s Kutani Firing style with blue green and yellow paints on a white field. This pot is thought to have been created during the Meiji period and bears varying patterns of a pine, bamboo and Japanese apricot tree on its 6 sides and also a repeating pattern on a yellow field called Narihiragoshi. This pattern originated with the famous Heian Period poet, Ariwara no Narihira.
