This round pot is thought to be a piece of Satsuma ware, created in Satsuma Province (Modern Kagoshima Prefecture). From the end of the Edo period until the Meiji period, many gorgeous gold-painted porcelain pots like these were created to be exported overseas. This piece was also likely created for the overseas market, as can be seen from the painting of the armored samurai, which fits with the orientalist niche popular with some in the West.
