The brilliance of the brushed cobalt blue glaze applied to this piece steal the eyes of the viewer. Two dragons can be seen dancing among clouds drawn with a fine brush inside the lip of the bowl. The creator of this piece, Inoue Ryōsai III, is a potter born in Asakusa into a family with a history of creating Seto ware pottery. He has created many bonsai pots through his relations with bonsai artists.
