Unique features of this stone are its smooth undulations throughout and the white crystallization that appears like piled up snow running from the peak to the foot of a mountain. From this, it was named after Mt. Bandai, a famous mountain located in Inawashiro, Fukushima Prefecture. This mountain is also known as Aizu Fuji.
