This stone was collected from the Seta River in Shiga Prefecture, a place known for producing many famous suiseki stones. Shallow, gray sections rise up throughout the blac,k rocky surface of this stone. Just as its name Musashino (referring to the Musashino Plateau) suggests, this stone evokes the scene of an expansive field that spreads out into the horizon with gentle slopes.
