This painting portrays kabuki actors disguising themselves as people of all trades, taking shelter from rain under large pine trees. The person standing on the left side is a bonsai tree seller. There are various potted plants which are grown in the spring, such as the seven herbs, white and red apricots, and pheasant’s eyes. The plants depicted represent the spring.
